Bulletin Board System (BBS)
The BBS is similar to a traditional BBS, except, like the other areas of the Docutriever system, there are added features that make it easy and convenient to use. The BBS is intended to be a public area for the work group. It allows you to announce news, publish standards and collect feedback, insights and ideas from your group members, improving productivity. The messages published on the BBS are "threaded," just like the message system. So, you can reply to a message and use it on the discussion board.
One convenience of our BBS is that you do not have to attach files to postings on BBS messages because you can put it in the group folder, which everyone already has access to. This saves you time in having to duplicate work. Plus, within your BBS message, you can setup a link to the desired file so that your group members have even easier access to the information you want them to have. It is much better to have your files in the file cabinet rather than directly on the BBS because the file management there is much better and provides for more convenient and consistent use by all group members. it is easier to find a file in the common file cabinet than in old BBS postings.
Another special feature of the Docutriever BBS is that you can cancel messages. Just like a physical bulletin board, the BBS can become cluttered with old, outdated information. And, just like a physical bulletin board, you can remove these old messages and threads to clear the clutter and open up more space.
For more information on using the BBS, please follow the guided tours.
